This Reusable Menstrual Cup Start Kit by Period Nirvana Is to Be Praised
As if working from home, homeschooling, tackling the never ending chores and errands wasn’t stressful enough, try adding a pre-teen about to discover a few red stains in their underwear.
But to help you breathe and explain that they aren’t dying, reusable Menstrual cup expert, Kim Rosas, has done something that my dear mother wish she had in 1970 — the reusable menstrual cup starter kit; everything you need to begin.
“I’ve always wished for something like this to exist, so when no one else took on the project I made it my mission to bring this experience to caregivers and teens. A first period is a huge milestone to be celebrated, and with the period taboo fading away young teens are more comfortable with their bodies. I wanted to encourage that with a kit to make the menstrual cup easier to use for teens, with the tools to succeed.”
So, what comes in the starter kit?
“I’m especially excited to have a copy of Vagina Pop Up Book in each box with a custom comic book by Mexico City based artist, Thalia Eme, help bring to life with me. The comic book helps normalizes the idea that menstrual cups take time to use and encourages teens to listen to their bodies and attempt to use their new cup at their own pace” explains Rosas.
The kit also focuses on the importance of understanding one’s body anatomy and cups can accelerate that process by teaching young teens first-hand about their own bodies through self-exploration and hands on visual learning.

While only 30 boxes will be available for the first launch, the Teen Period Starter Kit will expand come November/December adding more options for users.
While the starter kit can’t help with the attitude, mood swings, and taco cravings, it can help your teen have cleaner, happier periods.
